Which pH Plex products are available?
We offer three pH Plex products:
- ph Plex 1 protect
- pH Plex 2 repair
- pH Plex 3 stabilize
What packaging sizes do you offer?
pH Plex products are highly active, professional quality concentrates. In order to make them affordable and reliable, we offer economical double sachets for single applications.
Can I purchase pH Plex 1 protect or pH Plex 2 repair separately?
Not for the time being. We love to offer professional quality and performance to home users, along with simple dosage. Each sachet contains the ideal amount of product for a single application on shoulder-length hair.
A double sachet is also available with pH Plex 3 stabilize. Each pouch offers one weeks’ worth of protection for your hair.
How many sachets do I need for longer hair?
You will need one sachet of pH Plex 1 protect for a standard box of home hair color. If you purchase two boxes of hair color for long hair, you will need a second sachet of pH Plex 1 protect. In this case, we recommend our pH Plex Friends Kit.
Why does the Full Service Kit contain only one sachet each of pH Plex 1 protect and 2 repair, but four sachets of pH Plex 3 stabilize?
The Full-Service Kit is your guardian angel over four weeks from one hair coloration to the next. Both sachets pH Plex 1 protect and pH Plex 2 repair protect your hair during and immediately after hair colorations (or any other chemical hair treatment). You will use one sachet of pH Plex 3 stabilize once every week following your hair coloring/treatment.
Why does pH Plex offer steps 1 and 2? Other professional Plex products are only available to the home user from step 3 and on.
pH Plex is formulated for an uncomplicated process with high quality ingredients, designed for the home hair colorist or traveling stylist. Other Plex products often require the need to know the chemical make up of your hair color or bleach, therefore making them very difficult for the at home hair colorist. We wanted our products to be available for everyone that colors or bleaches their hair, so we designed them that way.
Why is the product called pH Plex?
The pH value of the skin is about 5. The pH scale reaches from 0 (very acidic) to 14 (very basic). Hair colorants, lighteners, and perms have a pH value of about 9. The trick with pH Plex is, to always have products balanced to exactly that pH value, which guarantees the best results for your hair. We have patented this technology and wanted pH to be a part of our name.
Is there fragrance in pH Plex?
No, pH Plex is manufactured without the addition of perfume.
Why are there PEGs and silicones in pH Plex?
pH Plex products are highly concentrated specialty cosmetics, which can be mixed with all hair colors. Unfortunately, this cannot be achieved for now without PEGs and silicones. However, we promise to work hard and listen to your wishes.
What is the active ingredient in pH Plex?
The natural active of pH Plex is malic acid. Malic acid belongs to the group of alpha hydroxy acids, which are well known in skin care. It is also a substance located naturally within the body.
Where can I find malic acid in the ingredients list?
Malic acid appears under the name of sodium malate. This is due to pH Plex’ sophisticated formulations. We have adjusted their pH values exactly to the needs of hair colors and hair.
What if I use a wrong dosage of pH Plex?
Don’t worry… even though we recommend a certain concentration (one sachet per application for shoulder-length hair) and application intervals, you can choose to do it differently. If you use less pH Plex or less often, then the protection will build up less quickly. If you use more, then you will not achieve a significantly better result. Our recommendation has been provided to be the most economical and effective choice. Whatever you do, pH Plex will provide the certainty to always achieve the best color results.
I do not use color or other chemical hair treatments. Can I use pH Plex nonetheless?
Of course. pH Plex repairs any damaged hair structure from within. Whether you have colored or lightened hair, or simply hair damaged by exposure to sun or other environmental influences, pH Plex will help you to have more resilient hair. You can either apply our single step intensive cure (a mixture of pH Plex 1 protect and pH Plex 2 repair, which you will prepare yourself) or you can apply pH Plex 3 stabilize once per week.
Can I use purely ph Plex 1 protect as a standalone?
No, under no circumstances should you apply pH Plex 1 protect directly. Always mix pH Plex 1 protect with other hair cosmetics. Please follow the usage instructions on the sachet.
Can I leave in pH Plex 2 repair and 3 stabilize for longer than the recommended 5-10 minutes (e.g. overnight)?
Principally yes, but it will not make a difference. All pH Plex products are “nutrition for your hair” and after 10 minutes your hair is saturated with the active ingredient. Therefore, we recommend following the usage instructions and allow your hair some “free time”.
How long can mixtures with pH Plex 1 protect remain on your hair?
Only briefly. Please follow the times and information given in the usage instruction of your hair color, lightener, perm or relaxer exactly. pH Plex 1 protect is designed to be mixed with these products with which it develops a harmonious interaction without affecting the times informed by the manufacturers of these products. Therefore, any mixture with pH Plex 1 protect should not remain on your hair beyond the duration given in the usage instructions.
